With the Yankees taking 2 out of 3 from Boston over the weekend, and winning the game that Vasquez would have started, no one is questioning manager Joe Girardi’s decision to skip the struggling $12M man. But the Yankees can’t hide Vasquez forever, unfortunately.
He will pitch against the Tigers tonight in Detroit. Hopefully he can allow less than 7 hits, 4 walks, and three home runs, as he did in his last outing.
“I’m just making terrible pitches,” he tells you. “You can make them in the American League or the National League. You can make them anywhere. If you listen to what everybody says, you’re gonna get crazy.”
See, it’s much ado about nothing. He’s just making terrible pitches. That’s such a comfort, right?
