Tablet Photo Tablet NameTablet Name is the street name that was submitted with the tablet (or the common street-name for an imprint if no name is submitted with a tablet). The individual tablet page may also give alternative names based on similar tablets that have been submitted in the past or information collected by the source organization. Active ContentsActive Contentsis a list of substances detected by the lab. Date PublishedDate Published is in most cases within two weeks of the date that the tablet was received by the lab (MAPS and other non-Ecstasydata results not included). Date TestedDate Tested the approximate date when the sample was tested by the lab. Location Tablet SizeTablets are weighed and measured with tablet diameter and height being displayed in millimeters (mm) and weight displayed in milligrams (mg). This is the full weight of the tablet, including all binders and fillers and is not the mass of the detected substances. Data SourceMost of the data on EcstasyData.org is for tablets submitted by the public with lab testing organized by the EcstasyData project. Various organizations have also contributed data to EcstasyData.org. Links are provided to contributing organizations’ websites as well as to information describing the organization and their involvement with the EcstasyData.org project.
Substance Ratio /
AmountsRatio/Amounts are, in most cases, the relative amount of the detected substances. When a single substance is detected, the ratio will always be “1”. When a mass is given, that is the actual amount of drug in the full submitted sample.

The end of this summer seems to us to have been an abysmal season for Ecstasy users in the states and abroad, according to the laboratories at www.ecstasydata.org, www.streetwork.com (Switzerland), and www.energycontrol.org (Spain).  Now let’s weigh in on the sorry bunch of pills above, starting with the first and third pills from the top, Chicas and Rosas (both from Spain), which seem to us like they may be from the same maker, because of the odd and disturbing ingredients.  Admittedly, we are going out on a limb by drawing the conclusion that the two pills are linked, especially since we aren’t privvy to composition ratios on these pills.  Yet, we’ve been at this quite a while, and are having trouble recalling seeing Metoclopramide as an adulterant.  In fact, 6 of the pills analyzed contain Metoclopramide, which is generally a heart burn/ulcer medication.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000821

This chemical is especially dangerous because, as is explained at the web address above, it can cause a condition called tardive diskinesia, which causes involuntary muscle spasms, especially in the face.  Women are especially subject to tardive diskinesia.  We are very disappointed that this ingredient has found its way into the composition of pills sold as Ecstasy, and are extremely alarmed at the rate with which it is being found in pills sold as Ecstasy recently.  This is not to mention the other ingredient found in Chicas and Rosas, as well as in the Pink Cats, White Rolexes, Red Speckled Hearts, and White Bentleys found above: meta-Chlorophenylpiperazine.  mCPP is a common herbicide, making the 6 pills containing mCPP and Metoclopramide flat dangerous in our opinion.

It’s also disheartening, if not unexpected, to see the Rolex brand of Ecstasy exploited in this way, and with such dangerous ingredients.

We’ve also noticed, going back a few years, a disturbing pattern with the Mac brand of Ecstasy.  At first, we were seeing many outpressed Macs that were piperazines, but as you can see above, there are two Macs recently tested that contain bad ingredients and no good ingredients.  Both of these Macs are impressed.  The Red Macs containing piperazines (TFMPP) and caffeine and the Yellow Macs containing just caffeine.

Once again, we see a few fake/adulterated pills that are outpresses or cutouts, in keeping with our preconceived notions about both types of Ecstasy shapes (Blue Smileys, Pink Bulls, White Hearts, and Blue Hearts).  Adding to the confusion is that 2 different Blue Hearts are going around Europe.  One of which, quite disturbingly, is 1 of only 2 pills tested since August 25th that are unadulterated MDMA pills.  The other being Green Speckled Stars, which were sent to www.ecstasydata.org labs from Manchester, England.

Aside from Metoclopramide, we were disturbed and surprised by some of the other adulterants that have shown up recently in the lab results.  Bisoprolol, a drug used to treat hypertension with a littany of side effects, albeit “mild ones”, shows up as the only ingredient in the White Hearts cutout above.  Read about Bisoprolol at the link attached below.

http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmedhealth/PMH0000927

The White Loftons contain Buflomedil, a drug used to combat arterial disease.  Buflomedil is not F.D.A. approved in the United States.

Domperidone is an ingredient in the White Rolexes, Pink Cats, and Red Hearts, found above.  We found Domperidone to be an especially disturbing adulterant because it increases prolactin production, which leads to increased estrogen in both females and males.

http://www.medicinenet.com/domperidone-oral/article.htm

Six of the above pills contain 4-Fluoroamphetamine, which causes alertness and mild euphoria, but would be unimpressive to someone who purchases it expecting it to be MDMA or MDA.

http://www.erowid.org/experiences/subs/exp_4Fluoroamphetamine.shtml

White LN’s from Long Island, NY contain Phentermine, a weight loss drug.  Phentermine is an addictive appetite suppresant which mixes poorly with a wide variety of commonly taken medications.

Of the 33 pills/substances sold as Ecstasy and tested by www.streetwork.org, www.energycontrol.org, and www.ecstasydata.org between August 25th and September 29th, 2010:

  • 2 pills contained MDMA and were not adulterated (Blue Hearts cutout, Green Speckled Stars)
  • 3 pills contained MDMA and were adulterated with caffeine or with caffeine plus “amphetamines”
  • 31 pills/substances were adulterated
  • 13 pills contained piperazines
  • 10 pills were adulterated with or contained only amphetamines
  • 1 pill contained only caffeine
  • 11 pills contained adulterants realtively new to the scene in our experience
  • 2 pills contained caffeine and amphetamines only

The European scene is even more unsettling than the American scene, when weighing these lab results.  All the more reason for Europeans to be especially careful, and to test their pills stringently.  Especially when considering the dangerous nature of some of the “new” adulterants found in pills popping up in Spain and Switzerland.

Our prevailing thought?  Europe has been saturated with piperazines, and so fake makers are cutting piperazines to disguise their taste and effects.  This is a trend I would expect to see in America eventually as well.  Everyone needs to keep testing, and it might not be a bad idea to stock up on clean pills when you can.
