Patriots and former Ravens LB Adalius Thomas (above).

LB Adalius Thomas was cut this morning by the New England Patriots, after a tumultuous stay in New England which saw his production and playing time decline.  Thomas, 32, had signed a $37.5M/5 yr contract with New England, but never materialized into the consistent pass rusher he was while with the Ravens under defensive coordinator Rex Ryan, now Jets coach.

There has been much speculation about Thomas being cut and joining the Jets.  On February 15th, Thomas told a Boston radio station that he wanted to play for a team “that wants me and where it is fun.”  Thomas has been rumored to be getting cut by NE for several months, but the Patriots were in no rush, because Thomas was not due a roster bonus in March.
