Newest Jet, # 25, Joe McKnight (above).

The Jets have come to terms with 4th round pick and heir apparent to Leon Washington, USC’s RB Joe McKnight, on a 4 yr deal with $2.36 M.

McKnight was slated to receive a signing bonus slightly higher than $572,000 under the NFL slotting principle. He received the standard base salaries of $320,000, $405,000, $490,000 and $575,000.

Drafted 112th overall, McKnight rushed for 2,213 career yards at USC with 13 touchdowns and 66 catches for 542 yards.

He also returned 32 punts for 254 yards and two kickoffs for 50 yards.

Glad to see McKnight signed.  We expect big things from him, and were thrilled the Jets selected him, whom Mike Mayock had as his 6th best back in the 2010 NFL draft.  We agree with Mayock, who feels the Jets got extreme value with this selection, who is also a buddy of QB Mark Sanchez.
